Sandra Singh

Sandra Singh (Vancouver, BC) is the Chief Librarian of the Vancouver Public Library, one of the largest systems in Canada with 21 branches, including the Central Library, a staff complement in excess of 700 people and a budget of $49 million.

She has been the recipient of the Association of British Columbia Library Directors Award of Excellence (2013) and was named in Vancouver Magazine’s 2014 Power 50.

She is currently the President of the Canadian Library Association (2015/2016) and has led a number of national library initiatives, including leading the creation of the national not-for-profit Centre for Equitable Library Access (2013-2015) and leading the national Working Together Project (2004-2008), the first Canadian public library initiative to develop community-led approaches to public library service development.
